Above the water level, greyish green lesions with purple margin develop on the leaf-sheath. Later, the lesions enlarge and coalesce with other lesions. The symptoms are usually not clear till flowering. The poor filling of the grains, in case of its severe attack. After harvesting the affected crop burn the rice straw and stubble. Avoid the excessive use of nitrogenous fertilizers. Keep the bunds clean by removing the grass.
Control:
Give two sprays, first spray at the boot stage of crop and second spray after 15 days, of Amistar Top 325 SC or Tilt/Bumper 25EC or Folicur/Orius 25EC @200ml or Nativo 75WG @80g or Bavistin 50WP @200g in 200 litres of water per acre.
